About Jim
Jim Krahn is the owner of JK Fine Woodworking Inc., and has lived in Kelowna, British Columbia since 1959. Before becoming a cabinetmaker, Jim was a student of Fine Arts at Okanagan College, excelling in painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. Travelling to New Zealand, and exploring the Okanagan and West Coast of BC has been a source of inspiriation to his art.
For the past 20 years, Jim's focus has been the fine art of woodworking, and sculpture, using natural materials from BC and exotic wood and stone from other countries. Working in alabaster, marble, BC soapstone, Brazilian soapstone, Purpleheart wood, Bass, Mahogany, White Oak, Cherry, Walnut,Cedar, Pine Beetle-kill, reclaimed, and other woods, his craftsmanship in wood and sculpture reflect a deep connection to his material. Using stone and wood, Jim designs and builds custom cabinetry, outdoor structures, and fine furniture to be appreciated for generations.
